Redhill should’ve picked up all three
points, but a late strike in the 95th minute saw both teams picking up a point a piece in this bank holiday fixture.
Redhill got off to a good start, moving
the ball around and moving forward. Redhill continued to attack and it was long before Redhill took the lead in the 13th
minute when Ollie West broke into the Sidley area saw Mike Morgan unmarked quickly passed the ball towards Morgan who fired
the ball into the back of the net.
Redhill continued to press forward and
should’ve been award a free kick just outside the Sidley area when keeper Greg Thurstans brought down Dave Flemming
but the referee waved played on. Mike Morgan continued to look forward and crossing the ball forward. Both Tim Smith and Stuart
Channon continued to stop all attacks made by the Sidley Defence. Skipper Justin Jones continued to out pace in the midfield
passing the ball to Ben Biggar on the right wing.
Sidley nearly pulled the score back level
in the 39th minute when a header from Steve Morris was heading towards the top left hand corner but Reds keeper
Chris Roberts managed to save this with one hand then stopping the ball from going out for a corner kick. Just two minutes
later the Reds nearly doubled their lead when a fine free kick from West found Luke Jones but keeper Thurstans managed to
dive to his right denying Redhill of a second goal.
Redhill started the second half more positive
and quickly moved forward. Dave Flemming continued to put the Sidley defence under pressure as did Justin Jones and Mike Morgan.
Sidley missed two good opportunities in the 52nd and 59th minutes, with both attempts flying wide of
the post. Sidley looked like scoring in the 65th minute when Stuart Morris went one on one with Roberts , Roberts
quickly put Morris under pressure resulting him putting the ball wide of the post. Jon Ducker was brought on and quickly moved
up and the down the right wing.
Again Sidley saw another chance missed
in the 80th minute when Roberts and Dave Ward both jumped up for the ball but Ward just managed to get his head
onto the ball but seeing his attempt going just over the cross bar.
With two minutes left of the second half
Reds nearly took the lead when a shot from Justin Jones inside the Sidley area was deflected off a defender and brushing passed
the post for a corner kick. Just as Redhill were looking as if they were going to pick up all three points, Sidley scored
the equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time when they were awarded a free kick just outside the Reds area and Shae Spreafico
stepped up and managed to clear the defence, putting the ball into the back off the net.

Redhill saw most of the procession early
in the opening ten minutes. Captain Justin Jones quickly moved forward, feeding the ball forward to strikers Luke Jones and
Dave Flemming. Reds nearly went into the lead in the 14th minute, when a fine strike from Jon Ducker from the left,
forced Ringmer keeper Ross Standen to tip the ball over the cross bar, forcing a corner kick.
Just on the 20th minute mark,
Ringmer nearly took the lead when Andy Agutter saw his attempt at goal saved by Reds keeper Chris Roberts, forcing Roberts
into making a diving save. Both teams continued to press forward but can’t find the back of the net. Reds continued
to cross balls into the Ringmer area but were quickly saved by the keeper.
Mike Morgan continued to pace the wings,
trying to get the goal that Reds needed but each time denied by the keeper. Ringmer missed a fine opportunity in the 39th
minute, when Gareth Green saw is close range header sailing over the cross bar. Despite both teams playing well, the score
remained 0-0 at half time.
Just two minutes into the second half,
Ringmer were awarded a penalty when Matt Beeston tripped up in the Reds box and the referee quickly pointed to the spot. With
Ringmer substituting their normal penalty taker off in the last two minutes of the second half saw Chris Johnson stepping
up. But the Reds escaped going behind when Johnson put the ball over the cross bar.
After this Redhill stepped up a gear and
started to play some good football. Oliver West continued to provide useful balls up field with Geoff Clark winning most challenges
in the midfield area. Mike Morgan saw his attempt at goal, just flying over the cross bar in the 59th minute.
Redhill continued to see most of the ball
and continued searching to find the opening goal but with both keepers playing well it was very difficult for either team
to score. Reds again had a good opportunity saved in the 75th minute, when a Mike Morgan shot was stopped by the

Move Nearer To Safety
Despite not having key players, Chris Roberts,
Tim Smith, Dave Stares and Mike Morgan, Redhill moved closer to safety, winning all three points against bottom of the league
side Sidlesham.
Straight from kick off, Redhill quickly
pressed forward and challenging the early. Reds had most of the procession for the opening ten minutes, passing the ball around
neatly. Sidlesham picked up a free kick just outside the Redhill area on the 11th minute. The ball was crossed
in from the right finding Billy Coates, whose attempt when flying over the cross bar. Five minutes later Sidlesham forced
Reds keeper Dan Kelton into making a fine diving save following a low shot from Joe Leggatt.
Redhill got the break that they were after
in the 16th minute, when a cross from Luke Jones, went into the Sidlesham area only for Sidlesham defender Ben

later, following a collision with Sean Towers, Luke Jones had to substituted for Dave Fleming as he was suffering from a slight
concussion. Reds then lost defender Stuart Channon just before half time after he was kicked in the face. Reds saw out the

forced Hoare to finger tip the ball over the cross bar.
In the second half, Redhill brought on

of the cross bar and cleared away to safety. Both teams continued to push up field and each time kept getting denied by each
others defences.

Reds return home at last!
Redhill
2-2 East Grinstead Town
Following
the postponement of Saturday’s home fixture against Chichester due to a waterlogged pitch, Redhill at last returned home to Kiln Brow for an important
game with East Grinstead Town on Tuesday night. With illness and unavailability affecting the
selection particularly in defence, Barry Mountain and Michael Allen were elevated from the reserves and both acquitted themselves well throughout
the game, writes Rhys Williams.
The
Reds dominated possession early on, but found themselves a goal down when Burns found space in the box and brought out a fine
save from Roberts, but Kris Trevor was quickest to the loose ball to fire home on 24 minutes.
Redhill plugged away and equalised on 38 minutes when following fluid movement down the left involving West, Ducker
and Biggar, Luke Jones chipped Tidy in the Grinstead goal from 35 yards with great opportunism. Parity lasted only 2 minutes however as Burns timed a good run from midfield to spring an off-side
trap that had seemingly trapped at least 3 Grinstead players. He continued
to slot calmly past Roberts.
The
second half saw excitement as tempers became heated and some uncompromising tackles went in from both sides, particularly
on Michael Morgan who was becoming more influential. Redhill pulled the
scores level again on 55 minutes when Biggar drove in from close range following a goalmouth scramble. Grinstead were reduced to 10 men when Hillen was dismissed for an off the ball incident kicking out
at Morgan and following what looked like another red-card tackle, Morgan went off injured, the perpetrator escaping with a
caution.
Reds
pushed forward for the winner with Matt Dean on for Morgan, going close following fantastic close control on the edge of the
box. Grinstead also had a rather optimistic appeal for a penalty denied by the
referee in the closing stages.
Redhill’s
recent record of one defeat in five games has steadied the ship, but turning the draws into wins is a priority to push them
back into the top half and this must be the objective when Southwick visit Kiln Brow on Saturday (kick off 3pm).
Redhill: Roberts, West, Mountain (McDonnell 80), Channon, Allen, Clarke,
Morgan (Dean 65), Jones, J, Jones, L, (Jenns 87), Biggar, Ducker
