Redhill 1 Southwick 1
Saturday 30th October
Redhill remained undefeated
in October with a fine 1-1 draw away to Southwick in the league and now look forward to a busy November playing every Saturday
and most Tuesday’s writes Dan Best.
The game started very much
evenly with both teams getting forward, with Barlow and Morgan on top form Redhill started to edge forward. But in the 6th
minute they found themselves behind when Aaron Macmillan converted a penalty when Tom Levitt fell over in the box.
Straight after this it was
Southwick that looked the better side as they kept pressing forward and coming close. But the Southwick strikers found it
hard to get passed defenders David Stares and Tim Smith as they held off most of Southwick’s attempts.
Jamie Sinclair look the most
impressive player on the field as he continuously ran up and down the wing and passing the ball forward towards Glen Barlow
and Steve Jenns. Redhill nearly got back on level terms on the 33rd minute when a Sinclair corner found the head
of Stares but saw his effort just clearing the crossbar.
Again Michael Morgan continued
his excellent form since returning from his ban as he continued to cross some excellent crosses towards the Redhill strikers
but just couldn’t beat the Southwick keeper.
Redhill step up a gear in
the second half as they took the game to Southwick, Steve Jenns had a great opportunity missed when a low shot went wide of
the post on the 49th minute.
Redhill found themselves
back on level terms on the 57th minute when Jason Fleming handled in the area, this was noticed by the referee’s
assistant who then gave a penalty, and this was quickly converted by Captain Justin Jones.
Southwick then found it hard
to defend as Redhill kept getting forward and creating more goal scoring opportunities. Michael Morgan nearly put The Reds
in the lead when a near shot was saved by the keeper and knocked out for a corner kick.
But with both terms battling
hard for the final ten minutes of the game a draw was a good result for both teams.

Redhill 2 Sidlesham 1
Barlow And Morgan Unstoppable
As Reds Continue Their Winning Ways
Redhill picked up three more valuable
points on Saturday against bottom side Sidlesham. Redhill had great boasts for this game as Tim Smith returned to the side
along with the return of Michael Morgan following the completion of his 35 day match ban.
Redhill started the game with great attitude
and quickly went straight into the attack. Glen Barlow nearly put The Reds into the lead on the 3rd minute when
a shot went direct to the keeper but can only manage to clear the ball away for a corner. For the next twenty minutes Michael
Morgan showed excellent skill with the ball and amazed the home side as he shot passed them.
Glen Barlow had another chance to put the
away side in the lead but couldn’t connect from a Michael Morgan cross as the ball went straight to the keeper. Four
minutes later from 15 yards out Barlow’s shot came bouncing back, after hitting the cross bar. Barlow and Morgan were making an excellent connection for the reds and continued to battle forward. Jamie
Sinclair made a great impact for The Reds down the left wing. From yet another great ball from Morgan down the right wing
found Barlow whose shot was saved by the keeper. But at half time the score remained level.
Straight from kick off in the second half,
Morgan went straight on the attack and on the 46th minute he whipped in a very good cross from the right to find
Barlow whose shot smashed against the post and cleared by the keeper.
Sidlesham started to pick up just like
the rain and found themselves in the lead on the 56th Minute when John Oliver knocked the ball past the Redhill
keeper.
Their celebrating only lasted just one
minute when an excellent through ball by Redhill captain Justin Jones found Barlow, the keeper came out and dived at the feet
of Barlow but Barlow controlled the ball well went around the keeper and put The Reds back on level terms.
Justin Jones went close on the 60th
minute when his header just cleared the cross bar from 10 yards out. But certainly the best goal of the day won it for The
Reds on the 63rd minute when a Michael Morgan fantastic shot from at least 35 yards out went over the keeper who
was about 8 yards off his line, and fired straight into the back of the net.
With just only 15 minutes remaining the
rain continued to crash down onto the pitch making it hard for all the players. Despite the rain Redhill kept pressing forward
and Justin Jones on the 79th minute found his header just coming off
the near side of the past following another Morgan cross.
With just two minutes remaining Redhill
midfielder Geoff Clark was shown a straight red card for an elbow on Jimmy Stewart. Sidlesham couldn’t take advantage
of this as Redhill picked up all three points.

REDHILL 2 RYE & IDEN 2
Barlow Returns As Redhill Continue Their Unbeaten Run
The past three weeks have been very
positive at Redhill F.C, Redhill winning their last two games and with the return of Glen Barlow to the side, Redhill continued
their unbeaten run for three weeks by picking up a valuable point against third place Rye & Iden, writes Dan Best.
Redhill were pleased to announce
that Glen Barlow was in the starting line up along with the return of midfielder Justin Jones but Redhill were without captain
Luke Jones who has a slight ankle injury and Michael Morgan whose suspension finishes tomorrow.
Redhill started the game with a
positive attitude and knew that this would be a difficult game. At kick off both sides were strong in the midfield area and
found it hard to press forward towards the penalty area. Rye and Iden nearly went
ahead on the 12th minute when Ade Olorunda headed the ball just over the cross bar from a Peter Baker far right
cross. Redhill battled forward and it was Redhill were nearly took the lead on the 16th minute when a Geoff Clark
thunderous shot from outside the box smashed against the crossbar and cleared by the keeper.
Redhill picked up six consecutive
corners in the 20th minute but with strong Redhill headers from Clark and David Stares saw
the ball just clearing the cross bar. Redhill then saw most of the ball for the next ten minutes. James Brackham nearly scored
on the 35th minute when a close range shot was saved by the Rye and
Iden keeper.
The home team went in front on the
38th minute when Ade Olorunda’s shot went past Chris Roberts and into the back off the net. With half time
approaching Redhill looked to get back on level terms, it wasn’t until the 43rd minute when Glen Barlow was
challenged from behind just outside the penalty area. The Rye keeper was taking
his time organising his defence and this allowed captain Justin Jones to take advantage of this and fired the ball into the
back of the net. Rye and Iden kept pressing forward and with the referee allowing
an extra five minutes of injury time Ade Olorunda found the back of the net again after playing just over four minutes of
the injury time.
The second half started much like
the first half; Glen Barlow kept pressing forward and trying to create the chances but kept getting denied by the Rye
defence. The next twenty minutes saw the home side take most of the procession and kept hitting the Redhill defence strong,
lucky for the Reds Oliver West and David Stares kept forcing the home side out with Jamie Sinclair knocking the ball forward.
Justin Jones and Glen Barlow wouldn’t
stop marching forward, with Steve Jenns just missing the goal on the 78th minute. Rye
were heading for all three points and stated to lie back in the last ten minutes. Justin Jones pushed the ball forward to
Steve Jenns who caught the Rye defence a sleep and fired the ball into the home
sides net and put The Reds back on level terms. Both teams battled forward for the last five minutes but the score remained
2-2 at full time, with both teams picking up a point.
After the game head coach at Redhill,
Rhys Williams said “I am very pleased with today’s result, I thought that we were stronger then them at times
and deserved all three points but this is a good result for us and we look forward to next weeks game”

REDHILL F.C VS PAGHAM
Redhill Starting To Climb The Stares To The Top
Redhill
Football club were searching for another win this weekend following their first cup win last week against St Francis Rangers.
The Reds opponents today were Pagham and Manger Mark Endsleigh knew that this game would not be easy, but believed in his
team’s determination to win, Writes Dan Best.
New
Redhill midfielder and former East Grinstead player Dave Gellently played in his first home game for The Reds and wanted to impress the crowed, who has also been
selected to play for Sussex along with Michael Morgan, who is at present still suspended. Straight from kick off Redhill saw
most of the ball and kept pushing forward. Geoff Clark and Gellently were strong in midfield, with captain Luke Jones looking
to increase his great scoring record this season.
Both
teams looked strong and found it hard to get past each others defences. Both teams created some excellent chances to go ahead
but couldn’t find the net. It took almost forty minutes for the first goal to be scored, and it came from Redhill number
ten Steve Jenns who knocked the ball past the keeper to land it into the back of the net.
Pagham
came out strong in the second half trying to get the score back level but the Redhill defence made this very difficult for
them. A Pagham side kept pressing forward and got very frustrated because they couldn’t get passed David Stares and
Stuart Channon.
Pagham
midfielder Phil Turner caught the Redhill defence by surprise on the 58th minute, when a through ball found Turner
who knocked the ball through keeper Kirk Ritchie’s legs to pull the score back level.
Redhill
showed great determination and never gave up. With full time approaching Redhill missed a great opportunity to go ahead when
a Jenns shot just flew past the post. With virtually the last kick of the game, Redhill picked up a corner, Ian Wallace fired
this into the Pagham area and Redhill defender David Stares jumped higher than everyone else and headed the ball into the
back of the net to give The Reds the lead on the 92nd Minute. With all The Red’s supporters awaiting the
referee to blow for full time, Pagham made one last attempt to press forward but when a Jordan Willis shot from outside the
box went sailing over, the referee blew for full time and Redhill picked up all three points and a second consecutive win.
After
the game Manager Mark Endsleigh said “I am very please in how the team have performed here today, they never gave up
and kept pressing forward to create the chances”.
